The Big Book of Trends
Your plans for September.
Fashion Library
Putting together the must-read books about the industry is close to impossible for any fashion lover. But among a plethora of titles, there are some that stand out as essential for any fashion junkie, whether we're talking about coffee table books full of photographs that inspire, or books with narratives that unravel the stories of this universe and its main characters.
Mode-en-scène
Between the rise of myths and the (de)construction of dreams, the big and small screen tell us fascinating stories about the world of fashion, with iconic faces and unmissable stories. These are the films and series that capture the legends of the world's most beautiful industry - between chaos and splendour - and that, regardless of the time period, will always be in vogue.
Fashion to be in and to savour
There are places that are fashionable but, above all, that define and mirror fashion. To stay, savour and discover, these are some of the most fashionable stops on the globe.
Prada Caffè, London
Located in Harrods, the Prada Caffé exudes elegance with its distinctive Prada green décor, velvet seats, Japanese porcelain and black and white chequered floor inspired by the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shop in Milan. With a menu that combines Italian classics with modern touches, from patisserie to cocktails, the Caffé is the ideal endpoint after an exhausting afternoon of shopping and reflects the spirit of the Italian house, with its passion and distinctive curiosity. More information at Prada.com.
Blue Box Café, Manhattan
The Blue Box Café, located in the prestigious Tiffany & Co. shop on Fifth Avenue, represents elegance and culinary excellence wrapped, of course, in a marvellous shade of blue. Created by acclaimed designer Peter Marino, the Café incorporates the iconic Tiffany hue and features personalised art installations. Under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud and executive chef Raphaelle Bergeon, the Blue Box stands out with a menu that includes the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany's, Afternoon Tea and an à la carte selection where New York and French cuisine coexist. Monsieur Dior, Paris
Art de vivre is the concept that guides the restaurant, affectionately called Monsieur Dior and located at the very famous 30 Avenue Montaigne. Each gastronomic proposal has been developed by Jean Imbert and Antony Clémot based on the tradition and history of the maison, and the emblematic French cakes sit alongside original creations that reinvent the Dior symbols. Art also has a place in this space, which is filled with a huge mirror by Claudia Wieser made up of geometric panels that are in dialogue with the work of Guy Limone, as well as an oil painting entitled Christian Dior à Table, by René Bouché, in homage to Monsieur. More information at Dior.com.
Vermelho Hotel, Melides
‘A unique place, for unique people’; this is how the eclectic and maximalist Vermelho Hotel, Christian Louboutin's first, defines itself. Located in Melides, Grândola, it promises an intimate experience and an audacious spirit for the curious who visit. From the art to the furnishings, this boutique hotel is steeped in history and invites to experience ‘la vie en rouge’, whether it be in the 13 rooms, the Xtian restaurant - where the Alentejo cuisine shines - or the wellness areas, swimming pool and gardens. Vermelho is a testimony to art and creativity that also celebrates Louboutin's proclaimed love of the region. More information at Vermelhohotel.com.
Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, Tokyo
The Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, located in the prestigious Ginza district, is the epitome of luxury, a fusion of Italian elegance and Japanese refinement. The design reflects a sophisticated aesthetic, combining contemporary opulence and timeless craftsmanship with a panoramic view of the Tokyo skyline. Between the Italian restaurant that reinvents traditional codes and the spa that proves to be an authentic sanctuary, the hotel - with Michelin Key - is another of the jeweler's gems. Gucci Osteria, Florence
Located in the birthplace of Gucci, the Osteria embodies the creativity and involvement of the Italian house in vibrant and flavoursome dishes, which are also accompanied by a shining Michelin Star. With seasonal touches, elegance and humour - and under the vision of chef Massimo Bottura - the fun and irreverent energy of Gucci is present not only in the cuisine but in the entire visual identity of the space, which is located right next to the brand's boutique and museum, Gucci Garden. Armani Hotel Dubai, Dubai
In a combination of Italian design and Arab hospitality, the Armani Hotel Dubai was born, occupying 11 majestic floors of the Burj Khalifa. The luxury residences have been personally idealised by Giorgio Armani, reflecting the couturier's sublime taste, and each dining space has been designed to offer a luxurious experience - with views of the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Lake - as well as the Armani Ristorante which has a Michelin Star. In addition, guests have exclusive access to the Dubai Mall - what more could one want? More information at Armanihotels.com.
