Throughout history, Vacheron Constantin established itself as a symbol of the women’s pledge for freedom, marking its steps with the same precision as a clock’s hand.

In the first days of the industry, functional watches were considered a masculine tool. However, and in spite of the discriminatory claims that guided our past, female appraisal of this art rose. Left out of a more practical life, watches had, in the history of the female gender, a symbolic position. But as others produced purely beautiful objects, Vacheron Constantin was eager to incorporate practical features in their watches. Committed to preserve its functional legacy as much as its aesthetic creations, the Swiss brand expanded its Patrimony and Traditionnelle collections by multiplying the offer of watches made for women. This decision is an unmatched symbol of Vacheron Constantin, a brand that follows the social progress of women’s battles since the 18th century.
As the progress in History placed the female gender in new situations, the watches from Vacheron Constantin kept on their side - or better, on their wrists. From the 1940s, female watches made by the Swiss brand became almost exclusively wrist watches, a symbol of progress in the women’s rights movement. The years went by and female watches became even more similar to men’s ones, a symbol of the progress mimicked by time. From the 70s, Vacheron Constantin dared to create more sportive lines, crafted with the female liberation in mind. This commitment never disappeared, remaining until today and reaching a new zenith with the most recent novelties in Traditionnelle and Patrimony collections. Besides its aesthetic and functional value, the Swiss brand’s watches have also gained a personal, symbolic value, capable of informing us of the past as well as any historical document.
Vacheron Constantin’s watches are true portraits of the time when they were born, by drawing inspiration from the lifestyle and art of the season. Let us have as an example the most recent watches of the brand that, even though celebrate the most functional features of the objet, do not forget to be attentive to detail. The new Traditionnelle watch, an ultra-flat perpetual calendar, echoes its technical sophistication in its refinement, available in white gold and 5N rose gold, both 18 karat. The two models have a display made from mother-of-pearl, the bevel and the top of the horns delicately encrusted with 76 round-cut diamonds and, as a piéce de résistance, a crown adorned with a round diamond. Even though equally elegant, the automatic Patrimony watch represents a more minimalistic approach. But it doesn't fail to include the same options in 18-karat white and rose gold, and a bezel and minute band sumptuously decorated with diamonds. The elegance and glamour associated with Vacheron Constantin is the result of the profound respect that the brand has always shown for the art of crafting watches - a respect that stands out not only for the honor to the manufacture of the past, as well as the one of the future. This devotion to innovation can be seen in the wristband on the new models of Patrimony which, through the touch of a button, can be replaced without needing tools.
