Stevie Wonder sang in Superstition that "superstition is not the way." But, just in case, we've balanced the bad luck of popular sayings with some... unexpected talismans. Black cats and the number thirteen, scissors and open umbrellas, "unlucky" things which allow to counterbalance the alleged curse with salt thrown over one's shoulder, with purses that never touch the ground, and with a future certainly bright, read in tarot cards and melted wax. There's even a crystal ball, but we don't need it to know it's a blessing to flip through the pages that follow. Anyway, just in case, it doesn't hurt to knock on wood before turning the page.
