Adolescence is for discovery and atonement – not of crimes or misdemeanors, but of fears and anguishes that accumulate with growth, as time goes by. What happens when five girls get together in the shortest night of the year, known as Ivan Kupala in Slavic countries, willing to figure out who they really are? A fascinating ritual of liberation, where each one finds her true self, then proceeding to the (very much) awaited transition into a new individuality. The central point of this ceremony? The water, that projects, and reflects, its thousand shades of blue.
