Is there anything more energizing than the silly season? Than the warmth of a summer day? Than an impromptu dance from our feet on miles of scorching sand? Than the chill throughout the spine because of the seawater, icy cold in contrast to the outside temperature? Than the euphoria of the first rays of sun on a vacation when it's Monday? Than the pool of a rented house for the summer? Than a freshly made bed from a hotel room? Than the smell of a sunscreen that isn't even ours? Than the feel of a pasty SPF 50 cream spread like brushstrokes on the face? Than the sound of laughter muffled by the waves? Than a game of cards in the moonlight, a late night pizza, a beer at sunset, a wet bathing suit over your body when it's 40 degrees? Than a bikini acting as lingerie for days on end? Than a friend's dinner lasting forever and no alarm to wake up? Speaking of, when are we going on vacation? Is there anything more energizing than the countdown to doing it all (again)?
