Dame Vivienne Westwood, designer, activist, queen of punk, died on December 29, 2022, at the age of 81. Insurgent and revolutionary, Westwood was the opposite of a conformist genius. Her collections were weapons against a lethargic and obedient society. Her values separated her from an industry dominated by profit. Guided by creativity and rebellion, the British designer turned fashion into a political tool, making clothes become cries for social, economic, and environmental justice. To the queen we can only say: rest in punk.
