The Big Book of Trends

These are our selection of the FW24 trends for the season.

JUST LIKE A GLOVE

This trend fits in perfectly with our glamour wishes for the winter: elbow-length gloves become the everyday accessory for the cold season. Worried about the usability of the accessory? If Audrey Hepburn was able to eat a croissant accompanied by her coffee to go in front of the iconic jewellery window in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, we can also make our morning bica + pastel de nata work elegantly in a pair of long gloves.

SECOND ROW

If there are moments when we applaud the second row, it's when it comes to fitted jackets: this extra row of buttons brings an even more polished dimension to a basic winter overcoat. Popularised at the end of the 19th century, they were originally created for the British aristocracy and have not lost the nobility of their lines and structure with their democratisation. The new season brings the classic up to date with new lengths - particularly shorter versions - and a range of vibrant materials and colours.

Go up, balloon, go up

The balloon version of the skirt is full of charisma - almost literally - for winter. The bubble shape is here to bring sweetness and naivety to any look, without compromising any kind of elegance or sophistication. From short to midi versions, it arrived in 2023 as a key element of ballet-core: it's gone from year to year, but it hasn't gone out of fashion.

BRACELET BAGS

Purse shapes and sizes take on a new trendy dimension with a hoop-shaped strap: bracelet bags are the it bags of the new season and it's easy to see why. With the functionality of the bag as a storehouse for everyday life and the beauty of a strap that is like a bracelet, we still don't know if these items are a bag or jewellery, but we do know that they are a jewel of a bag.

VRUM-VRUM

The basic leather jacket is back in the wardrobe (not that it ever left, but the new season has renewed its iconic status) and it lives up to the challenge ‘I never compromise with a little black dress’ - but in a leather jacket version. Pantone black is the bet for winter, but the silhouette is much more flexible in terms of options: from bombers to bikers, it's the trend that's accelerating for our wardrobe.

FUR-MIDABLE!

A blanket, but for your feet. A teddy bear, but for walk on the coldest days. A fur ball, but a shoe. All with the sophistication of our favourite footwear silhouettes. Who hasn't thought ‘I'd wear a duvet to work’? The new season offers a cosy alternative to coordinate with work and off-duty looks.
