But it could be. There's a “new West” in town which, in fact, is still the Old West, but reinvented for autumn-winter.
It's not totally unprecedented, because the trend has already been felt in recent seasons (and not just in fashion: country music has become involved with pop artists such as Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour look has won street style honors), but the cold season welcomes cowboy core with much more vehemence. There are essentials such as Texan boots and cowboy hats, but there are also designs that move away from the traditional figure, not only by altering the silhouette, with overlays such as shorts over pants, but also by playing with fabrics, textures and materials (such as blankets transformed into jackets). Inspiration from wild wild west iconography is now also applied to prints that cover dresses, in a relaxed look that seems to shout “this is not our first rodeo”, and the more rural side of this trend is stylized to fit in with city canons. It's a case of “the (cow)boys are back in town”.
