Color for winter? Unusual. Yes, unusual indeed, in any winter imagination: from autumnal browns and oranges to cold grays for the Christmas months - occasionally broken up by the red, green and gold trio on December 24 and 25 - color is not usually the first trend to dominate the season of low temperatures.
With a few exceptions over the decades, cloudy weather is correlated with a closet that lives up to it in shades as dry as fallen leaves and as gloomy as the weather. But not this coming season: the boldness of a vibrant color palette in warm materials such as wool, leather and fur delights those who always prefer neon to neutral. Strong pinks, electric greens and blues join bright yellows and reds for Pantone looks that are anything but monotonous or conservative. Even if fluorescent shades aren't your thing, the winter catwalks also brought pastel tones to make a smooth transition between dark colors and more saturated options.
