In shop windows and aisles, they displayed the season's favourites, the latest collections, the next big trend, long before any blogger or social media personality knew how to say ‘hashtag: shopping therapy’. The most curious thing? Even in a world where brands are competing for the consumer's attention and the channels through which to do so have multiplied, this old school method continues to fulfil its role: turning heads, capturing attention, influencing checkout, just by the simple fact that an inanimate model surrenders to its secondary role while displaying a new season of coveted accessories in a shop window.
