The Kitsch Issue

After hotels, therapists, personal assistants and luxury wardrobes, here's a new segment that promises to cause a stir among our four-legged friends - or, more precisely, their owners: dog grooming.

Disclaimer: this text should be read with a sense of humor. At no point is it suggested that you treat a pet (in this case, a dog) like a puppet or an object. Not at all. In any case, as there can never be too many warnings these days, here we are. Moving on. If until a few years ago the important thing was to feed, care for, vaccinate and literally "bathe the dog", now things aren't so simple. The world has become crazier and, with that, they have become even more important to our mental sanity. We've never felt so isolated, but with them we're sure we're never alone. Are they the centre of our lives? It's possible. That's why we're capable of doing anything for them. Even what, at first glance, seems crazy.

The chance to take your Rough Collie to the barber? It's the height of kitsch. True or false? And have you ever thought how much fun it would be to match the jewellery that will accompany you down the aisle with your Poodle's tiara? What's more, have you ever imagined your Dachshund in a hat and tie, or your Pinscher with an incredible blonde wig, at Carnival time? Perhaps not, but that's because you haven't yet been bewitched by the countless possibilities of dog grooming (note: there are courses for this, and there are many), a type of service that is increasingly in demand.

Animal grooming, which includes brushing, bathing, ear cleaning, nail clipping, hair treatment and shearing, is a rapidly expanding universe, and more than a passing "he said/she said", it's a trend that may not be as unreasonable as it seems. It's (yet another) unique and special experience, a memory that stays with you forever. Of course, the most important thing here is to understand your dog's needs, make him comfortable, and find a style that matches his personality. that your dog is comfortable with. Or you risk him asking for the complaints book.
