What do you mean, “coy and homely”? Princesses are not what they used to be.

What do you mean, “coy and homely”? Princesses are not what they used to be. Ball gowns are replaced by city armors, tiaras by oversized earrings, silks by sequins, ruffles by LBD minimalism. The skirts with a thousand petticoats gain architectural structure, and the Cinderella aprons are actually blazers from the corporate world — but with more style. The corsets are war looks, not ladylike corsets, and the balloon sleeves serve only to inflate one's self-esteem and conquer goals, rather than just enchanted lady-friends. Because 21st century princesses are cloak-and-dagger. Creative direction and styling by Sayuri Bloom. Photography by Hristo Hristov.
