The velvety touch of the powder pigments on the skin simulates the softness of plush, here raised to another level by glitter and vibrant colors. From purple to yellow, from blue to green, the shades are just the call to a makeup mood that appeals to the touch and to the memory of velvet, if only for the reflections that are subdued to the movement of the fabric under the light. The texture sprinkled on bare skin contrasts with the wet look of a hair that defies the laws of gravity and comfort, but not those of attraction. Because amidst the sumptuousness of velvet, we are in love with the chromatic and strategically placed simplicity of these powdery, fairy-like hues. Photography by Kourosh Sotoodeh.
