The Memories Issue

The threads with which the memories of a life are sewn are (almost) unbreakable.

Memories of friendships that were forged in childhood, that were renewed in adolescence, that lasted into old age. From the familiar details that make aromas home anywhere; of sounds, clues to unlock any chapter from the past; from images, postcards to countless visual memories. Memories that are intimately linked to the five senses, sealed with delicate bonds, but whose knots contain within them the strength of experiences that don’t end at the moment they are created: they tag along the guiding thread of life, like the string tied around a finger so one doesn't forget anything. So we don't forget anything.

Translated from the original published in The Memories Issue, from April 2024. Full stories and credits are in the print version.
