The exhibition is a unique opportunity to embark on a journey through the world of Louis Vuitton and discover the moments and collaborations that, for over 160 years, have shaped its identity. To complete the experience, the crème de la crème will be the café and chocolaterie, created in partnership with Chef-pattissier Maxime Frédéric.
The exhibition is a must-see for any fan of fashion and its history who has, of course, a crush for luxury items. It begins with two spaces of exclusive portraits depicting Louis Vuitton, created by contemporary artists. In this room, we find a representation of Louis Vuitton in digital format, showing how a historical portrait can be reinterpreted through the eyes of today's revolutionary technology. Then, over the next eight rooms, we are invited to immerse ourselves in the imaginative and artistic world of the maison, witnessing the fusion of the extraordinary legacy of tradition with the brand's innovative capacity.
The Icônes Réinterprétées room is an ode to the artists and designers who gave new life to the brand's iconic monogram, both in 1996 and 2014. Here we find unique pieces such as Karl Lagerfeld's “Punching Bag”, Cindy Sherman's “Studio Trunk”, Frank Gehry's “Twisted Box”, and Christian Louboutin's “Shopping Bag”. Le Monde de Louis Vuitton selon Rei, on the other hand, is an immersive and highly conceptual space that celebrates the contributions of Rei Kawakubo - founder of Comme des Garçons - with Louis Vuitton. Like Rei's creations, this space has a dynamic and challenging energy.
There is a universe of stories to discover in LV Dream and, spoiler alert, it includes a hyper-exclusive collection of the notorious Artycapucine. To finish on a great note, in the last room, La Rencontre de l'Art et de la Mode, we find famous collaborations between Louis Vuitton's artistic directors and various artists, since the maison's introduction to fashion in 1998, which have given rise to an extensive collection of accessories and ready-to-wear pieces.
Louis Vuitton has taken the “gift shop" concept even further, as it offers much more than the classic souvenirs. Here we find items developed exclusively for LV Dream, as well as a selection of leather goods, accessories, fragrances and some brand publications, so choosing will certainly be a challenge.
To complete the experience - and in a very French style - the master behind Cheval Blanc Paris, Maxime Frédéric, has incorporated Louis Vuitton's signature motifs into a selection of sweets and chocolates that are also true works of art. In essence, the exact definition of eye candy and soul food.
The exhibition is open to the public until November 15 at the former La Belle Jardinière store in Paris, near the maison's famous headquarters at 2 rue du Pont-Neuf.
