The trends for April 2023.

Long live punk
Vivienne Westwood's death, last December, would be enough to spark a wave of tributes to the punk movement - which she, better than anyone, knew how to dress. However, the prediction that punk would be back (if it ever went away) was set since early fall, when the spring/summer 2023 collections were presented. From Annakiki to Chopova Lowena, two of the hottest brands of the moment, to Junya Watanabe and Marc Jacobs, almost every designer made a point of shouting “long live punk.”
Drama queen
In the 19th century, crinolines - a kind of structured petticoat - were used to lengthen women's skirts and make their waists appear slimmer. According to Dior, Loewe, Jacquemus and Thom Browne, it's time we incorporated this (dramatic) piece into our closets. Apparently, it’s a pain in the ass, especially because of the space it occupies, but if we give it a chance we will see that it is perfectly capable of getting us off both at a wedding and at a cocktail party where we expect to meet our arch-nemesis: she will have no way of even approaching us.
Ready for combat
It’s fashion's latest crush, in case you haven't noticed yet - which seems impossible to us, considering the number of pieces that follow this trend produced by almost every brand. From cargo pants to multifunctional overalls, from jackets with a thousand and one pockets to trench coats, utility fashion has pushed athleisure into a corner and, in times of war (inflation, post-pandemic, Ukraine conflict) it has become the most practical way of saying, “I'm ready for anything... and I happen to have some swag.”
