Feet on the ground

Ballet flats, moccasins, slippers, loafers... Flat shoes, which for years and years have been catalogued as “boring” and “dull”, gain a new lease of life with the spring/summer collections, where they compete neck to neck with their most direct rivals, heels. Essential for day-to-day, comfortable and practical for the evening, they are now available in new colors, shapes and textures, reinforcing their personality and becoming one of the most sought-after styles of the season. This year, whenever the sign says “no high heels”, there will be a fabulous pair of flats to replace them... with style.

Spread the word

They have always been one of the easiest ways to take a stance on a particular issue. Message clothing gained new life after the election of Donald Trump in November 2016, when the planet came together in unison to protest the extremist positions of the then American president. But their history of rebellion began earlier, when designer Katharine Hamnett brought a T-shirt with a protest phrase to a meeting with Margaret Thatcher in 1984. In 2023, they continue their fight for a better world.

The higher the better

The red carpet stretched out to welcome one of the most infallible basics of the female closet. After several seasons of being relegated to the background, the wonderful high-heeled shoe is back - and it comes back in every possible form, from the pump to the compensated sandal, the vertiginous stiletto and the mules (which are now so high you need a support so you don't lose your balance). To be worn whenever the intention is to have long legs or to inflict pain on someone (be it ourselves or others). Nobody said it was easy to be beautiful, did they?
