The Icons Issue
He had countless aliases, including a symbol, and was probably the only one who could constantly change his name without being recognised or his fame being diminished.
Prince Rogers Nelson (1958-2016), better known as Prince (although pseudonyms have multiplied for legal reasons, this will always be the iconic nomenclature), marked the history of music as one of its greats, but he had no small impact on the fashion industry. Recognised for his exuberant looks, signature hairstyle and a stage presence that transcended all the glitter and frills he wore, his death may have taken the man, but not his work - nor his wardrobe, which continues to be replicated in an unmistakable way. Just as he himself was.
