An unrivalled figure in the fashion industry, she headed Vogue Italia as its director from 1988 until her death in 2016, and the title was forever associated with her. Because she stamped her identity on it, without undermining the Vogue DNA; because she didn't let any kind of constraint stop her from pursuing her unique creativity; because she didn't allow conservatism to stifle her premise of breaking down barriers; because she didn't let comfort stand in the way of vanity.
