The Kitsch Issue

Our favorite trends for the new season

Animal instinct

Almost every year it's the same. When the new collections come out, there are reports of the return of certain trends,, and it's not uncommon to hear, here and there, that "animal print is back." That couldn't be further from the truth. The animal print is not back because it never went anywhere. Like black, animal print is a staple. Read it twice.

Risqué business

Inspired by the lace that made our childhood a nightmare (just think of the gigantic collars on some dresses and you'll swear you'll never fall into that trap again), this trend proposes a new way of wearing the popular fabric: in a sexier, more practical way, with details that bring us closer to the disco - not the classroom.

Prom queen

Who hasn't dreamt of walking down a carpeted staircase (isn't velvet more luxurious?) and having the most popular boy in school waiting for you with a flower? We've all wanted to be Cinderella, and if for some reason it hasn't happened yet, fear not. The proposals from Nina Ricci, Giambattista Valli and Carolina Herrera are there to solve the problem.
