The X-who? There’s a new superheroine squad in town and they wear their V with pride. But none of them need a cape unless they want to: ones prefer sequins, others have a fondness for tulle, black and white have as much stardom as color, shiny waterproof materials may generate consensus as the official uniform, and the disguises that cover their identities are pointless because their actions need to be celebrated. Superheroines of the modern age are mothers, activists, friends, daughters, fighters, and devoted women. In these photographs, the mask is only there to give way the imagination, so you can imagine that, behind it, lies the heroin you know and love. Photography by Mous Lamrabat. Styling by Lisa Lapauw.
