To talk about the roaring 20s is to remember them as if we had lived through them.

Because the references of this era of cultural effervescence are so exuberant and vivid that they populate our imagination and memories (and clothing) as if they were really ours. They occupy our dreams, night and day, perhaps because we all want, especially now, to live in a time of excess, of prosperity, of breaking with the conservative canons as the roaring twenties did, manifesting it in the sumptuousness of sequins and feathers and freedom of movement and rising hemlines. We want the mirror ball on our dresses, the feathers of The Dying Swan ballet and the faux fur of the nightclubs in the details of our closets, the new normcore and 21st-century style full of jazz and glitter, and short cuts - in hair, top, and miniskirts. We want the bohemian and the endless nights, even if we have to imagine them, in #tbt mode, dressed up, between the four white walls of a room that is no more than the refuge stage of everyday life.
