The Kitsch Issue

An emergency kitsch for dark days.

To liven up the gray moments. To put the storms of current daily life on pause and press play on the positive perspective that moves us, emphasizing what unites us and not what divides us: the love for wardrobe freedom, for unexpected styling, for revivalist pieces because they seem to be (re)born from other times. The style that may differ in opinion, but that leaves no one indifferent - and that encourages smiles - is a style that makes fun count (in Fashion and beyond), that sharpens creativity and that is controversial in its best sense, but never dull. As far as the identity of the clothing is concerned, it is a do-it-yourself kitsch, sorry, kit: it is as unique as the person wearing it.

Translated from the original in The Kitsch Issue, published February 2024. Full stories and credits in the print version.
