English Version | Dryads among us

Nymphs associated with oaks, these dryads, says Greek mythology, grew and lived close to the tree that saw them grow, sharing life with it (if the oak suffered a blow or perished, the nymph would also suffer from the same fate) and protecting it.

But if these mythological beings could walk outside their natural environment, away from their foliage, what would they be like, how would they behave, how would they move among us? Perhaps they would bring with them the perfume of their leaves, the smell of wet soil, the tones of their trunk and, most likely, they would wear the flora that served as a carpet around their roots.

Translated from the original in The Blossom Issue, from march 2024. Full credits and stories in the print issue.
