…talking about blooming is also talking about the process of wetting the coffee beans before complete filtration? If you are a fan of a good cup of filtered coffee, you should know this step which involves pouring a little hot water over the ground beans, letting them rest in the filter for a while - meaning, the blooming phase, in which they bubble a little until they settle completely - and only then pour the rest of the hot water. But do you know why? When coffee is roasted, something is also formed inside the bean: CO2, which ends up disappearing over time, but remains in the bean when it’s fresh. As soon as the hot water hits the ground coffee, the contained carbon dioxide comes out and opens the door so that the hot water removes all the flavor from it without the hindrance of CO2. By the way, it is said that reading this issue goes well with a cup of coffee.
