Back to Work Issue
What are the essentials for getting through a working day? A meticulously organized agenda, an extra-large coffee and, of course, a nécessaire with all our favorite beauty products. Whether it's an endless marathon of meetings or unexpected appointments after work, we're ready. When outward appearance aligns with inner confidence, no challenge can shake us - extra points when our beauty choices align with the trends of the moment.
From the desk to the disco
Dior, Etro and Schiaparelli were some of the names that reaffirmed the obligation of the soft goth trend for this fall/winter. In a play of rebellion and elegance, it can be a very versatile look and ideal for creating a day to night look, defining the eyes with eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. As for lips, a nude shade will always be a safe and sophisticated choice.
Off duty
An off-duty beauty look is the embodiment of effortless elegance. It highlights natural features and is very easy to achieve: the make-up is soft, almost unnoticeable, with a natural glow that seems to come from within. The star of this look is, in fact, the confidence with which we wear it - and there's no shortage of inspiration to recreate it in the coming cold seasons, courtesy of Bottega Veneta, Khaite or Ferragamo.
Styled for success
It's official, side parts are back. In the past, they were used to the point of exhaustion, and the truth is that we needed a bit of a detox before we could enjoy them again, choosing the famous middle part as an alternative. Now, a few (many?) years later, side parts are once again shining with their sophistication and timelessness. Fendi, Acne Studios and Vivetta prove it.
Bows and boardrooms
At the fall/winter 2023 shows, bows featured prominently not only in fashion, but also in the beauty world. Simone Rocha uniquely adorned the models' faces, while Sandy Liang and Susan Fang creatively incorporated bows into the hair. Although all styles are valid, for a professional look it's best to stick to hairstyles. From low buns to braids to elegant updo's, the options for using this trend are almost limitless, and so are the products to be used.
Blush and business
Straight from the 70s, the heyday of disco, comes a trend introduced by Cher's make-up artist, Way Bandy. It's called "blush draping" and it creates the illusion of higher cheekbones. The impact of the blush will depend not only on the application of the product but also on the formula chosen - powder, cream, or its liquid version. In 2023 it returns to the catwalks thanks to Marrisa Wilson, Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture or, in a more discreet version, Alice + Olivia. It's a perfect way to add some color to a dull day at work.
