#StandwithUkraine

As we closed this March issue of Vogue, the unthinkable happened: a war began right amidst the 21st century. At a time when we thought we had already learned from the past, when we always believed that we preferred diplomacy and condemned the barbarity of bloodshed, a war began. And taking a stand is imperative for any media, whatever the area in which it moves. And there is only one side that is important to stand up for: that of Peace.
"An eye for an eye will only make the world blind." - Mahatma Gandhi
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know what peace is." - Jimi Hendrix
“Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be achieved through understanding.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
"The War is over... if you want it to be." - John Lennon
“Dad, how do soldiers killing each other solve the world's problems?” - Calvin, in Calvin & Hobbes, by Bill Waterson.
“By the way, we cannot resist remembering that death, by itself, alone, without any external help, has always killed much less than man.” - José Saramago
General(ization)

Since military matters are discussed, there is a “general” that it is important not to be mistaken: that of generalization. It should always be noted that an invasion from one country to another is not a reflection of an entire people and that the majority of Russians condemn the actions of Vladimir Putin, as is evident in the demonstrations in their own territory, namely in Moscow, which brought together thousands of people in protests against the war and in favor of peace. The sharing of Vogue Russia on Instagram, on the day the conflict began, is a reflection of this: “Vogue calls for peace”.
